Life Ready
We serve youth and young adults who have experienced trauma.
SUMMARY
Established in 2009, Life Ready Facilitated Care is dedicated to providing trauma-informed residential care to some of the most vulnerable youth in British Columbia, Canada. As an organization, we are committed to fostering an environment where youth are treated with respect, unconditional positive regard, genuineness, and empathetic understanding.
By offering 24/7 residential care, we build meaningful relationships with youth and youth have the opportunity to fully participate in their care planning and healing. We employ a strength-based approach to help youth develop the skills they need to be life ready when they leave our care.

MISSION & VISION
Our mission and vision have been developed over the course of a decade of supporting vulnerable youth. They reflect our beliefs in the transformational power of positive relationships. Guided by our person-centred philosophy, our staff aim to create a supportive, inclusive, and respectful environment free of judgement to help youth reach their full potential.

Mission Statement: Life Ready inspires to provide trauma-informed, culturally competent, collaborative, and equitable care to every youth and family who we connect with by providing them a safe space to grow filled with respect, unconditional positive regard, genuineness, and empathetic understanding.

Our Vision: Life Ready holds a vision of healing where youth from all walks of life are treated with respect, have the opportunity to fully participate in their own wellness, and are able to positively contribute to their community. We believe in a society where all youth have the chance to overcome the day-to-day difficulties they face, while also answering the more profound questions they have about life, meaning, and purpose.
VALUES
PERSON-CENTRED
We place every individual at the center of their care by providing them with a safe place to establish voice and choice throughout their journey of healing and prospering.
TRAUMA INFORMED
We work from a trauma-informed lens when helping people develop a deep understanding of the complex and multidimensional effects of trauma on one’s physical, neurobiological, and social development.
CULTURAL COMPETENCE
We aim to continuously increase our intercultural and intra-cultural knowledge as we recognize the influence of culture on one’s behaviour, values, and beliefs.
EQUTIBILITY
We provide equitable and ethical care to every individual, especially those who experience discrimination, prejudice, and are disproportionately represented in the mental health and criminal justice systems.
ACCOUNTABLILITY
We follow the principles of best practice with integrity and professionalism when working with youth and their families. We hold our staff to the highest standards and have mechanisms in place to ensure the rights of all the youth in our care are upheld.
